This place is new and deserves a try.... The food was great! I loved their cheese wontons! Portions are just right....
Their wait staff are still very green but they should improve as they grow. My tip for the wait staff, be more confident, stop apologizing for every little mistake and just be honest to your customers...we'll appreciate it.
Decor could use a little toning down on the walls and more ambience on the tables.... but overall, it was a nice experience. Will definitely be going back to this place!!!!

Honestly, I would never write, but having had had almost the exact same meal as the reviewer who most recently posted, I could not resist from arguing the opposite! The pierogis were amaaaazing! JUICY and DELICATE and FULL of stuffing. And the price? Well, considering there are so many pierogis in one serving, and may I say, HOMEMADE pierogis, I feel that they are more than affordable. This leads me to my next point: the schnitzel. Again, a homemade, VEAL schnitzel- just melted in my mouth.... and even more so in my husband's mouth, considering he ordered it. And, in response to the other reviewer, the schnitzel is surely made of high quality veal! We had the pleasure of talking to the owner about it and she was sweet enough to tell us all the details about what it takes to prepare it. I'm telling you, it's just so difficult to find a great, healthy restaurant with homemade food in Toronto. I would recommend Amber to anyone looking for some good quality ingredients and great taste. Not only does your food come fast, but it's been marinating for quite some time. This is how Indian food ( and Pakistani) is actually cooked. If you go to an Indian restaurant and you're waiting for an hour and a half for your dish thinking it's going to be fresh and that's how it's made, you're wrong. Indian food takes HOURS to make. The sauces and spices need time to sink into the meat, and they do exactly that at Tika house.
The service is great, they're always on top of your water and they don't expect you to tip!
People might complain about the atmosphere but the reason why they made the place like that is because in India and Pakistan the best tasting places are done up like Tika house so you can focus on the food instead of the decor. The washrooms are very nice though!
Best Indian place in the city. Don't bother going anywhere else.

My husband and I like to meet friends once a week for breakfast. We like Lancers the best. I have tried some others in the area but they can't compete with Lancers. The food is always served hot by friendly staff. My toast is never dry and they even remember what tea we like before we ask. Always enjoy eating at Lancers.
